Get it right the first time.
In recent years, numerous startups in Israel have increasingly engaged US-based counsel rather than Israeli firms to build their patent portfolios. The motivation is to employ native-English speakers with top US pedigrees, and to work directly with experts in US patent law. We offer the best of both worlds and more: encyclopedic legal knowledge combined with creativity and chutzpah to distinguish your ideas when every space is a crowded one. Willingness to ask tough questions of our clients and of ourselves. We specialize in US patent law, having directly filed and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in the US Patent & Trademark Office over the past decade. In addition to patent drafting, we also work to formulate IP strategies, often based on the subtle differences between US patent law and practice in Europe and the Far East.
Patent drafting & prosecution, IP strategy, and due diligence/FTO in the following areas:
Meet the Team
Our patent attorneys hold degrees in computer science, physics, mechanical engineering, bioengineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, and business administration.
Moshe Van Dyke, PhD
Cofounder of Momentum IP Group
Moshe Van Dyke founded Momentum IP on the belief that proper handling of the “higher level” IP-management tasks (formulating patent strategy, FTO/validity analysis, portfolio management, due diligence, and litigation support) draws heavily on the “fundamentals” — as learned from decades of patent drafting, local US patent prosecution, foreign filing and prosecution, R&D, and “face to face” consulting with clients about their business needs. Prior to becoming a patent attorney, Moshe was VP R&D of a Jerusalem-based software firm, specializing in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing.
Shalom Lampert
Cofounder of Momentum IP Group
Shalom is a named inventor on 13 granted US patents and multiple foreign patents and has over 20 years of patent drafting and prosecution experience, Shalom has over 30 years of industrial R&D experience in chemical engineering and applied chemistry. Shalom’s IP practice focuses on medical devices, digital printing technology, cleantech & renewables, mechanical engineering, industrial chemistry, and advanced formulations.
In parallel to his IP practice, Shalom manages an international engineering consulting firm which specializes in design and implementation of novel industrial chemistry processes, which have been implemented in large plants in Israel, France, and Turkey. Earlier in his career, Shalom was a partner at a large patent attorney firm.
Shalom holds three degrees from MIT, including a Master’s in Chemical Engineering practice. Shalom is licensed to practice before the Israel Patent Office.
